Féile na nÚll – Celebrating Community and Apples at Cloughjordan Ecovillage
Féile na nÚll, the annual Apple Festival will take place in Cloughjordan Ecovillage on Saturday the 21st of September. The exciting programme of events celebrating sustainable community starts at 11am in and around WeCreate Workspace, which is located off the Shinrone Road entrance to Ecovillage.
Bring your apples for mashing and pressing and, if you have an apple pie or tart recipe you are proud of, consider entering the Apple Bake contest. Highlights of the day include tours of the Ecovillage and Community farm and a walking conversation with Deirdre O’Leary, Rachel Hussey and Mary Renolds to some of the wildest corners of Cloughjordan Ecovillage. Mary is a nature activist, reformed landscape designer, author of The Garden Awakening, and inspiration behind the 2015 movie Dare to be Wild.
There will be a presentation on the history of Cloughjordan Ecovillage, an introduction by Cloughjordan Arts on the Community Amphitheatre and a showcase digital fabrication in WeCreate FabLab. Play Connect 4 Resilience, have a dance in the bicycle-powered Little Green Disco or just hang out and enjoy the refreshments and many curiosities.
